Cadillac predicts ELR sales mostly coming from 4 areas

2014 Cadillac ELR battery pack and motor locationIn an interview with Edmunds.com, Cadillac’s boss of marketing said that most of the 2014 ELR sales will come from places such as Dallas, California, Miami and New York.

Interestingly enough, this is the same line that Cadillac uses to explain why over 400 of the 920 or so dealerships nationwide have decided not to get certified to sell the ELR extended range vehicle. “They are not selling a lot of electric vehicles in Iowa.”

Since Cadillac started selling the ELR electric coupe in late December of 2013, 46 of the vehicles have been sold nationwide even with the limited and spotty supply of vehicles at dealerships across the country. Cadillac says that number is set to increase significantly this month as deliveries of the ELR to dealerships is finally starting “in earnest.”

Before taking a trip to a Cadillac Dealership to test drive the 2014 ELR, be sure to check out their website or give them a call first to make sure that particular dealership is ELR certified.

The ELR starts at a base price of $75,995 and initially took flack for such a high sticker price when compared to the Chevy Volt. However, many recent reviews are very clearly saying that is wrong. The ELR does share the drivetrain, but it has new suspension, better handling, and a super-luxe interior.
