As the release of the 2014 Cadillac ELR nears, GM is doing more and more marketing of the vehicle to help create some buzz before the launch. The most recent marketing campaign was an email blast to people who have entered their email address on Cadillac’s website and stated they want to receive information about the ELR model.
The email states that the all-new 2014 Cadillac ELR is arriving in early 2014. According to a Car & Driver review of the extended range plug-in vehicle, “The ELR offers plenty of art to go along with the science.” The ELR is a showcase for artistry and innovation that have intersected perfectly in one package. With the stunning looks of the 2 door coupe, the ELR was recently awarded the ‘Eyes On Design’ award for the best production car at the recent North American International Auto Show.
In order to be fully ready for the 2014 launch date, Cadillac has pushed testing into high gear, taking the Cadillac ELR up north to do some extreme cold weather testing to make sure the traction control and battery pack function properly when there is ice and snow on the ground.
Cadillac claims the interior of the ELR is a “destination unto itself.” From the fine-stitched leather accents to the wood inserts and carbon fiber, the ELR is definitely going to be an electric vehicle with a level of luxury currently unseen in mainstream production EVs.
